Paul is a native of Northern New York and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. His postgraduate studies were in Photojournalism. As a primary travel photographer for Getty Images, Tony Stone Images, Allstock, and PhotoUnique, Paul has circled the globe and published thousands of photographs. His gallery works are in multiple mediums, including metal, canvas, acrylic, paper, and glass. In addition, Paul has also written hundreds of travel articles for numerous national publications and has served as a contributing editor for various travel magazines. Paul lives with his wife Susan in Bellevue, Washington
